I made a mistake with my earlier post. We are being married July 21, 2006.. I am just a bundle of nerves. Speaking again on the fire. we lost the house, we lost the belongings, however everyone was able to get out. Because of his quick thinking. When he went back in the house, he had a fire extinguisher, however wasn't able to work it. That is one thing that we have learned that, it isn't just about pulling the pin and pushing a trigger. Michael is an amazing man (ok.. so I am alittle bias). When I meet people and they realize that he is blind.. sometimes they start to feel sorry for me..like I have such a burden. Are you kidding! I tell them, and it is so true, the only thing that Michael doesn't do is drive. If he ever finds a way to do that, I am sure that he will. I have seen so many times where the ignorance of society is just too much.. I still can't believe it sometimes. We can go some place, and I will lead him to the counter, and people look at me with their answers.. and he is the one asking the questions. I have learned to turn around, just to make sure they talk to him. He will look at me, and ask me if they are there in front of him, or if they heard him. Kinda like a joke to us. Or when someone speaks to me directly instead of answering to him..the one who asked, I just let them know .. he asked you.. not me.. or .. another one.. at the Dr.s office.. How many times have they asked me if he has been.. dizzy, thowing up, etc.. hello! he is right there.. ask him !.. Our society has a long way to go.. however we will not let anything get in our way.. Blind Man On Board, Get Out Of His Way.. now if he could only find a job.

I just went to copy a print of this story. I just want everyone to know. I was the owner of that house. Maria Nichols. Michael and I are getting married July 21, 2007. The same day of the fire, I was on my way home after being fired from my job at Labor Ready in Trenton. People have no idea what we have went through. The good news is that I found an awesome job in Fort Walton Beach Florida, at The Trophy Center, Inc. After our reception on Saturday, I am driving everyone here to Fort Walton Beach. Michael is going to be looking for a job. As we know that is hard.. however not impossible. I am so proud of him, and all that he has accomplished and all that he will do.
Just wanted to let you know..
